Pinky Card Translation Project

The cards that Pinkys come on contains lots of fun information about Pinkys. In the top left corner is a general blurb describing the product itself.

In the bottom left corner, the cards usually contain a blurb revealing information about that particular Pinky's personality. These blurbs are generally set up in journal or diary format, with symbols representing the day and the month. As such, they tend to read as if the Pinky herself was talking to you.

My Japanese is far from perfect, and I did these translations for fun and for my fellows English-speaking Pinky fanatics. I cannot guarantee the accuracy, but they should give you the general idea of what is being said. I've tried to note any passages I had particular problems with and also added other translation notes as well.

-- Croquette is a type of food which, according to dictionary.com is: A small cake of minced food, such as poultry, vegetables, or fish, that is usually coated with bread crumbs and fried in deep fat.

*I could not for the life of me find one of the kanji in this sentence, so I... guessed.

My casual clothes are generally that of a school girl.
But, after school...
I make-up into "Anime Tencho"!
I defend the peace of the Animate Pinky store!

I'm really just a representative of the store after all.

Notes:
-- Tencho means shop manager, but since the Pinky is largely known as "Animate Tencho" I thought I'd leave the word in there.
-- Her "make-up" into an Anime Tencho is a reference to the popular animation "Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon" where the words Make-Up was used as part of their transformation phrase.

This is from the Tencho,
We've been given new fair t-shirts.
We also need to do our hair in the fair's hair-do.
I really don't know what kind of products a BL fair would sell.
And what that has to do with these t-shirts' logo.**
So I guess it isn't a mis-print....

Notes:
-- I'm pretty sure "BL" (bi-eru) is short for boy's love.

**I'm not really confident on the translation of this line. I'll look into the grammar more when I have access to some better reference materials.
